This platform have been created to provide information about our company and its web platform and mobile application services for education institutions (such education institutions, our “Client(s”) (such services, together with the Site, the “Service(s)”) to our users (“you”, “your”, “users”, “Client”). When you share information with us we can help you achieve that goal by helping you find the right content and making your studying quicker and more effective.

This Privacy Notice is meant to help you understand how we collect and use the personal information you provide on our website, and the two official Studypeers iOS and Android mobile applications.

We need to collect certain information about you to provide you with the Service or to support your request. The type of information we collect can vary depending on how you access and use our Service. Additionally, you can choose to voluntarily provide information to us. Below we have described the types of information we collect and from where we collect it.

When you interact with us through the Site or the Services, we may collect Personal Data and other information from you, as further described below:

Personal Data That You Provide Through the Service.

a) Registration directly on Studypeers

  • • Contact information such as name, email address
  • • Unique identifiers such as user name, account number or name, password
  • • Location information derived from wi-fi location

b) Registration via Email

As part of the registration, users are asked to provide some personal information. Studypeers stores the following user data which are entered during the registration process.

  • • First and Last Name
  • • University at which the user studies
  • • Main subject
  • • Starting Semester
  • • Email address
  • • Password
  • • Profile picture (optional)

c) Registration via Facebook Login

Users can register on Studypeer using their Facebook login. This service is provided by Facebook Ireland Limited, 4 Grand Canal Square, Dublin 2, Ireland.

If users decide to register with Facebook Connect and click on the "Sign up with Facebook" button, they will be automatically redirected to the Facebook platform. There they can log in with their Facebook username and password. This will link their Facebook profile to Studypeer’s website or services. This link gives Studypeer access to the user’s following data stored on Facebook:

  • • Facebook profile picture
  • • Facebook cover picture
  • • Email address provided to Facebook
  • • Gender

This data will be used to set up, provide, and personalize the user’s account. The Facebook ID is needed so that users can login to their Studydrive account after their initial sign up.

d) Information Collected Automatically or From Others

Automatic Data Collection. We may collect certain information automatically when you use the Services including your Internet protocol (IP) address, user settings, MAC address, cookie identifiers, mobile carrier, mobile advertising and other unique identifiers, details about your browser, operating system or device, location information, Internet or mobile service provider, pages that you visit before, during and after using the Services, information about the links you click, and other information about how you use the Services, including information collected from interactive services (including our e-Reader), such as notes you take and engagement during study sessions.

In addition, we may automatically collect data regarding your use of our Services, such as the types of content you interact with and the frequency and duration of your activities. We may combine your information with information that other people provide when they use our Services, including information about you when they tag you.

Cookies, Pixel Tags/Web Beacons, Analytics Information, and Interest-Based Advertising technologies. We, as well as third parties that provide content, advertising, or other functionality on the Services, may use cookies, pixel tags, local storage, and other technologies (“Technologies”) to automatically collect information through the Services. Note however that as user of the Service you cannot opt-out of some administrative communications that are reasonably necessary to the Service, such as billing or service notifications. Our Site includes “Widgets,” such as the “feedback” widget on the Dashboard. These Widget features may collect your IP address and which page you are visiting on our Site and may set a cookie to enable the Widget feature to function properly. Social media features and Widgets are either hosted by a third party or hosted directly on our Site. Your interactions with such features are governed by the privacy policy of the company providing it.
